How do I setup no postage on single product (postage calculated by quantity)?

DOes anyone know a work around for setting up no postage costs on a single product (postage calculated by quantity)?

I fear from searching the forum that this is a firm no but can't see why this should be the case with such a comprehensive piece of software.

The reason I need it is for a client who is selling a book both as a paperback as well as the reduced price option of an e-book.

Can anyone help?

To do this you would have to change to shipping by weight. This can do the same thing as shipping by quantity, but has the added flexibility of allowing certain products to have unique shipping weights with specific charges.

Bollox! I take it I give each product a weight of 1 apart from the e-book 0.1 and set free postage on weight 0.1?

Yup, works fine, it's just a bit of a pain.
set free postage at 0.00 kg though (I'm sure others would have worked that out
