    Protx / PSP Pending

    Hi,

A customer placed an order earlier today that went into PSP Pending mode. Having checked the transaction on Protx this is saying that the transaction has been authorised.

Is there any reason why the transaction has not moved from Pending Payment Service Provider to the Pending tab?

    Thanks

I think you need to make a note of the authorisation number from Protx, then go to the orders tab, open the order, and enter the auth number and date into the boxes on the payments tab.

If you think about it, once you download the order, and it goes into PSP pending, there is no way for Protx to communicate with the order and change anything, so you have to do it.

Protx had a problem with their service (again) yesterday that resulted in completed orders not being marked as paid.
You are going to have to check yesterdats transactions in VSP against your PSP pending items in Actinic and mark any as paid manually where appropriate.

As Protx have nasty habbit of "forgetting" to tell you when somthing is wrong I would recommend checking out: http://www.protx.com/services/monitorvsp.asp

I'm not sure about this. With Secpay you can definitely download an order while the payment is still being processed and it will go into psp-pending. But the next time you retrieve orders it will download the payment authorisation, mark the order as fully paid and move it into the pending tab.

That surprises me Mike. That would indicate that Actinic writes the order before going over to the PSP and overwrites the same order number with the payment process details when it returns from the PSP.

Hmm - that does make sense though, doesn't it?

So - an in-process PSP transaction would complete and the updated version of the order would be ready for download next pass. Since the order file identity is passed to the PSP, then the PSP can re-create the order file if already downloaded, or overwrite if still on the server.

Question for Nadeem and the developers. Which is correct for how Actinic operates?

No update once the original cookie expires and order is downloaded,

          or

PSP retains the order reference and re-creates the file as needed?

So the OP becomes - what might have broken, how do we check and can we fix it?

that's weird coz mine have been downloading fine today (apart from the problem I've been having that I've posted about already but that's been ongoing for some time)

I did have to manually enter the authorisation numbers for some when they were having problems yesterday but I've had a good number of Protx ones today that have been OK.

Are they marked as "PSP pending" in the "Payment" column then?

As for the procedure.. with WorldPay previously and now with Protx, I've always had them come into the PSP pending tab if the order is completed but the payment is not. Then, once the payment itself is completed, Actinic downloads that, matches it to the order, marks the payment as "Full Payment Received" and moves it to the "pending" orders tab...... in theory!!

See my post HERE to see what issue I'm having recently with these "PSP pending" to "payment received" orders.. not sure if it's just since upgrading to 7.0.3 though

                Thanks

                Thanks for all your help.

I've double checked the transaction this morning and it has gone through.

But I just wanted to pick up on the point where you can download part way through and the order goes into PSP pending - and then when you download again and the payment is authorised, it does move to Pending. - This has happened to me many times.

                Once again thanks

                Linda
