I have been to visit a client with an XP and a popup blocker. This stops the display of popup boxes when he previews his actinic site. However he can view popup boxes on example actinic sites and on my company site in internet explorer with no problem. Is this a problem only when viewing in preview or will it also be the case when the site is live? Or is it a known problem in version 6?

Most pop-up blockers work on pop-ups that work automatically without user intervention (eg on page load) and they should disregard pop-ups that a user has clicked to launch. IE security settings can sometimes prevent locally generated scripts from functioning - there is a thread on here about this issue and a work around via the Microsoft knowledge base. Have you tried previewing in Netscape or FireFox?
Assuming you have not modified the pop-up function used by Actinic there should be no real reason the pop-ups are being blocked, especially if you are able to view other Actinic sites using the pop-up facility.
This may just be an issue due to previewing the site locally - it may be worth using the Actinic Trial Host facility to test the site before going live.

XP with Service Pack 2 adds extra security functions and a security bar to Internet Explorer.
One of these is to disable all active content (like JavaScript) on locally viewed pages.
Whenever you attempt to display such pages the security bar (often overlooked - especially in systems with no sound) displays a warning, that you have to override in order for full functionality to happen.Norman - www.drillpine.biz
