there a way during importing to make it such that the on the Layout/ shopping mode the box is unchecked?
I want the quantity on product page be selected as defult.

When I import now, the shopping mode box is checked as Use parent setting. this way quantity is not shown on the product page.

how can I make it so that during import, the box is unchecked.

I am sure in the actinic documentation somewhere it tells you the values to use to import every field, it will just be a case of doing abit of digging

Section Quantity placement
This controls the shopping mode - (see What is Shopping Mode?)

0 = Quantity on product page
1 = Quantity on Confirmation page
2 = Quantity in Shopping Cart
