    SSL at checkout

    hi,

we use worldpay to process credit card details and customers are transferred to the secure site after entering their name and address.
The padlock only appears when they enter the worldpay site, not at checkout when entering name/address.
What would I need to do to get the padlock on the checkout section and is this necessary?

The only way you get a padlock is in an SSL environment. To do this you would have to be using your own SSL Cert in addition to or instead of WorldPay.

As a WorldPay user up to know we have only come across one or two customers who were concerned by the lack of padlock in the check out. Whilst they are only giving details that are generally in the public domain they either don't understand or are still concerned.

IMHO this area is going to become more and more sensitive. Our opinion is that the more one can do to generate buyer confidence the better. We are currently reviewing once again the whole issue of payment service providers that inevitably includes our own SSL and using someone likes CommsXL or Comidea.
