    Hiding Components From Customers

Hi...next questions for all of you. I have an item that comes in multiple variations. I've created the 15 or so variations as products, hidden them, and then created the same things as components and linked them to the associated products. Here's the catch. Some of the variations cost more than others and the client would like to see the "Your Price" change when a certain configuration of the product is selected. Is it possible to do this?

Also, some clients should be able to see some but not all of the variations. Normally I could just make the product invisible to certain customers, but since they're set up as components, how do I do this? I need to set it up so that depending on their price schedule or login, they are not able to view certain comonents in the drop down.

    Any ideas?

If the component is linked to a product then you can hide the price schedules on the component to make them unorderable - I think that they will still be able to see them but will get a message saying that the product is not available to them when they try to put it into the basket.

Jan...is there a way to do it so the customer can't see it? The problem is that my client doesn't normally stock the product but they have a large client that wants it. They carry enough stock for this one client to order, but they don't want anyone else to see it or order it because they don't make anything on it. Because of this, they want it in the dropdown list (that's why it's a component), but they don't want other clients to even be able to see it.

Looks to me like it's not possible, but you seem to know the ins and outs of the software pretty well.

The way to do this is to have two copies of the product on the web site, have one for the customer with the product with the special options and include those in their list and have the other without the components and exclude that from the big customers list. There is a discussion here (http://community.actinic.com/showthr...=hide+sections ) about how to hide sections from customers.
