Moving Actinic 6 to a new machine

I have a moded version of version 6. One or two of Normans Hacks

Is there a step by step guide to moving from one machine to another?

As well as Jo's route here's another way to make a full duplicate of a Site on another system. This may be best if you're using modified Perl scripts.

Run Actinic on the Old system and copy / paste all the text in Housekeeping / Security into a text file (say security.txt) that you save in the old Site1.

Make a note of the license key from above.

Install Actinic on the new system (using that license key) and update to the same version as the old.

Run that Actinic, make sure you can see the Demo site and then exit.

Run Actinic on the Old system and copy / paste all the text in Housekeeping / Security into a text file (say security.txt) that you save in the old Site1. Exit Actinic.

On the new system rename Site1 to InstallSite1.

Copy all of Site1 from the old system into the new systems Site folder.

Run Actinic on the New system and copy / paste the info from security.txt into Housekeeping / Security.

You're now running an identical system.

Neither of Jo or my methods compromise your original installation so you can always start again if things go wrong.

Was it Actinic or Windows? You should do this step in Windows - not in Actinic.

Also make sure that your site is, in fact, called Site1 on both systems. If you have more than one site things will be different.
