External Linking

Am attempting to link to SQL Server, connection works ok but the primary key "Product Reference", which is limited to 20 characters, is 25 characters on the database, as it uses Access Dimensions, which has fixed width referencing.

Is there any way to force Actinic to use a longer reference? Why is it limited to a 25 char String?

No-one know? Or is Actinic officially incompatible with Access Dimensions and that is that?

You cannot change the length of the product reference field and Actinic can only link to a real tables so you cannot link to a view. The only thing that I can think of is to create a linking table that contains a shorter product reference, you would have to keep it up to date manually though and your product references would have to be less than 21 characters long.

I think that there is a company that sells a plugin that links Access accounts to Actinic (if that is what your access dimensions is).
