I'm afraid there is no short-term solution, when speaking to development, I'm afraid there is no way around what you want to achieve. Actinic Shipping does not use sub-districts. Sub districts are required only for tax. Tax may apply to either the
Invoice or Shipping Address and is declared in the Tax tab of Business
Settings. Florida should be included either as a shipping zone on it's own
or as part of a larger zone such as US.
Just to clarify, I'm not trying to "achieve" anything, except get Actinic to do the job properly. I fully understand that Sub-Districts are only created for Tax purposes and not for shipping. The problem stems from the fact that in creating Sub-Districts of Florida and setting up tax zones for each county, Florida is no longer available to be set up as a state in it's own right.
The only way around this seems to be to add Florida back in as a State and allocate it to an existing tax and shipping zone, which then can be used for manual ordering. The only downside is that there is no control over the various tax rates, as it can only be allocated to one zone. I've selected 7% as the default rate, although I suppose this could easily be changed if needed.
OK, it's not a perfect fix but it's workable. However, it would be good if the development team could take this on board for the future. All it needs is for Actinic to do the same as UPS Online Tools - ignore the colon and Sub-District for Shipping zone, so that it just reads it as Florida. If that can be realized, then we won't have any problem with Online or Offline order processing.
