    Application Start Up Settings Problem

    Hi All

Have searched around the forums but can not seem to find an answer or im searching the wrong things anyway.

When I start up actinic it always starts with the exact same settings, the product tree is open on a particular product range, also the reports menu, always has a date in it from last year, This is actually getting really annoying that every time i run a report i have to change the dates.

My problem is that it never used to do this, Actinic always used to remember the dates or what you had open in the product tree when you restarted it.

I have tried compacting data bases, snap shots e.t.c but can not get it to remember the last thing it did just what it did 6 months ago.

If anyone has had this same problem or any ideas on how to fix it then please let me know

    Cheers
    Darren

Snap! Getting the exact same problem. It only started after I upgraded from v6 to v7, so could it be a bug in v7? Our Reports menu defaults to April 2005, which is when we upgraded.

From memory didn't v7.0.2 resolve this issue?

Also defaults to weird dates on my Business v7.0.4 version when searching for orders. You can sort this by deleting the relevant registry entries and it will default to todays date, however it will not remember it if you manually change them after that!

              Thanks Guys, Not Alone then

I am on V7.03 and the date is probably when i upgraded.

Any comments from Actinic then - Or can we report this as a bug?

              Cheers

Let me have a word with the development team and get back to you about these issues.

What sometimes happens is that a registry setting can get stuck in a certain state and not get updated. These registry settings control things like position in the tree and report dates, and sort order of the orders in the order summary.

I'll let you know whether there is a fix to make these values updateable.

OK - go to 'Start | Run' and type 'regedit'. This opens the registry editor. Please be REALLY CAREFUL in here.

Using the folders at the left, browse down to :
                    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Actinic\Catalog7\Sites\Site1
(replacing Site1 with your site name)

Right click on the 'Site1' folder and select 'Export' to create a bakcup *.reg file containing the current registry settings.

Then, all the 'folders' ('keys') listed below can be deleted from the registry without affecting Actinic adversely:

                    \Catalog\Settings\Additional Files Filter
                    \Catalog\Settings\Discount Group Filter Index
                    \Catalog\Settings\Stock List Order
                    \Catalog\Settings\Stock List Toggle
                    \DBBackup
                    \Order Search Dialog
                    \Printer Settings
                    \Product Search Dialog
                    \Property Sheets
                    \Report Selection
                    \Tab Selection

Do not remove the following keys otherwise Actinic will probably need to be reinstalled.

                    \Catalog
                    \InstallRoot
                    \UploadFlags

The lists probably do not cover all possible 'keys'. If other keys are found
under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Actinic\Catalog7\Sites\Site1 then let me know and I'll find out whether they can be removed.

Remember, importing a snapshot may reinstate the keys.

I made these amendements ... but still have the same Content Tree problems as described above!

                      Any further ideas, folks?

There are also some (about 13) "Tab.xxxx" DWORDS in the "/Actinic/Catalog7" Registry string. Any idea what they control?

                      Cheers ...
