Order of A-Z in online catalog

I jave listed many manufacturers on my online catalog. they appear in alphabetic order.
BUT, for some reason, everytime I close Actinic, one of the manufacturers section, which starts with letter "F" comes up over the "A" section.
When I cut it and paste it in the right location, and update the site, after update is finished, the "F" still shows on my website on top of the "A"

    Any help will be appreciated.

    You could try this

I presume your treeview looks like this

    MainShopPage
    F page
    A page
    B page
    C page

click on the E page and hold down the mouse to drag it, drop it on the MainShopPage. Do the same with D to A in reverse alphabetical order. Try uploading again and see if it holds this time.

        It doesnt work.
In the Online catalog, they are listed alphabitically.,
when I update, the 1 manufacturer only comes to the very top, above "A"
        Doesnt make sense.
When I move it, to its proper place, it stays there, when I update, it is at top again.
when I move it to its proper place and close actinic and restart it, it is back over the "A" again.

Only thing I can think of, if you are using software to organise the catalog sections in alphabetical order is the F might have a space in front.

Sounds daft I know, but if not, try making a new section F in the right place (call it FF temporarily to avoid duplicate names. Move or copy your content to this new section and delete the old before renaming the new to F.

If you right click on E with the shift key held down and click Insert New Section - it should go in the right place.

            Hi there

What Bill has written in his first response is right, so i can't understand why it not working for you. Try this other suggestion.
Jont is right - Mole End does have a catalog-sorting tool, but you would need to purchase it. I will add this thread to our wishlist for Actinic to have the ability to sort sections alphabetically.

            Kind Regards

Actually the sorting tool has a 30 day demo period so you could use it to re-sort it, it uses the sledgehammer approach to sorting and so might make a difference. You can get a copy here :

              http://www.actinicplugins.co.uk/acat...ting_Tool.html

It is more likely to be a server caching issue though. The products should appear on the website in the order in which they appear in the catalog tree. I suggest that you change the section name slightly and then upload, then you will be able to check that the section is being uploaded correctly by looking for the change that you made and that your website is not caching it on the server.
