Extended Warranty Charge

Hi, Has anyone tried to create an Extended Warranty charge on an item?
We are looking at giving the option to upgrade the 3 month warranty to 12 months and use a percentage scale for different items. Is this possible?
I've looked in the Discounts and Surcharges but there is not an option I can see that will allow adding a % charge (% Discount, yes)
Can it be done or would this be a suggestion for the next version?

You would need to create an attribute with choice option which defaults to 3 months as standard at zero cost and a choice for 12 months at a cost - you can not specify percentages but a fixed cost.

You can also create several hidden products warranty1, warranty2 etc and specify the cost there and associate to the attribute - this would allow you to change the costs in just the one place if they change at a latter stage.

Using the discounts option would not work as it would apply to the products in the group and not be user optional.
