404 error on any page that uses cgi

    Hi Guys....

I refreshed my web site & now I am getting a 404 error on any page that uses cgi script ( unfortunately all my pages use cgi as links )

I have deleted all the cat & fill files from the server & site 1 folder then refreshed.

    Still no joy

I dont want to do an entire reload of the site as its over 400mb

Please can some of you kind people offer as many viable solutions as possible.

    Many thanks

    Jonas

Very first thing to do is contact your host and ask them if they changed anything recently.

        Hi Jonas,

Was this working before? If so, what has changed, did you make an changed to the Templates? If not, then it possible your permission on the website have reset themselves. This can happen if the hosting company apply a security patch on your server. I would suggest in checking the following:

        1. The /acatalog/ folder have a permission of 777.
        2. The /cgi-bin/ folder have a permission of 755.

Please check this with your hosting company.

        Kind Regards

A 404 error is 'page not found', so it sounds like the links are pointing to the wrong place / filename.

You should check your links and see if they look right and also check your server directory structure.

If you need further help then a link would be helpful so we can take a proper look.
