Customer Log In Page

Do any of you use the customer log in page in Business?
I have it enabled, but I'm not sure if it will put customers off?
Also, I'm not actually sure how the username & password are generated? I have played with my test site, but still can't see where a customer gets the username etc.

Hi there

The customer account are created in the Actinic software. So if you go to "View | Customer Account" and click on "New Customer", you will need to type in the details. If the customer has ordered before on your site, you can use the "Copy Details From Order Contact...".
Once you have created the customer account, you will update the site and then pass the account details to the customer. The reason why it has to be done this way, is because Actinic is an offline product, so it does not upload a database. This is the primary reason why client cannot create customer accounts online.
The Advance User Guide gives you another way of getting customer to register an account.
