    Clearing cookies after purchase?

    Hi,
I have already implemented the cookies clearing using a cancel button. Is there a way to clear the cart after an order has been completed?

          Hi,

The cart should automatically be cleared after completing an order. If you are talking about the cart summary, then this should only be a problem if your site has 'split-ssl' (ie a shared certificate at your hosting company). This is a known problem with actinic and so far our development team have not been able to find a viable solution due to the different features that the standard-cookie and the ssl-cookie deal with.

I have my own SSL certificate from http://www.geotrust.com/web_security/quickssl.htm which my host setup for me. Is this shared? It goes to https://secure.mydomain.com and is registered to that address too.

Not necessarily shared but you still have two addresses, ie

              http://www.mydomain.com
              https://secure.mydomain.com

There will have to be two cookies for this as they are different addresses. To only have one cookie created you should have had https://www.mydomain.com.

I bought another certificate for https://www. which seems ok now but I notice than with Nochex the cookies don't clear but with paypal it works fine. Any solution for this please?

No ideas I'm afraid. You are getting into some really technical areas here. I suggest registereing an email support ticket that our development team can take a look at. You can register this here: http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm

I just discovered an issue...should have been obvious though! When a user is logged in and they click to clear cookies they are logged out as the cookie is gone, is there any workaround for this?
                    Thanks

                      Hi there

No, not really as Login works with cookies as well. If you were to clear out the cookie, how would Actinic know you are logged in?

                      Kind Regards
