New server setup

We are just about to move to a brand new server. During setup and configuration it will have a temporary IP address and then that will changed to our permanent IP when we are ready to do the swap.

If I set up our sites on the new server using the temp IP, will changing the IP back to our normal address cause a problem?

Hi,

I have been informed that if you change the network settings to show the IP address, then the only thing you need to watch for is any hard-coded links. However, if you are getting the domain pointed to the IP address then there could be a problem with DNS.
