Coupon Code Discount

We desperately want to encourage telephone sales to order online.
In order that we can run a promotion I cannot find simple guidance to be able to allow any customer to type, for example "cake" into the coupon code and receive 10% discount off their total order. Taking into account that we do not use the customer login facility as so many of our customers are new and only order a birthday cake once a year!
Simple instruction would be happily received.

Hello Tim,

You need to enter a order level discount, go to the 'view' menu and choose 'discounts and surcharges settings', select the first tab - Order Level - and add a new enter, set the type to amount, tick the box and enter the code (it might be a good idea to use a numeric code because the codes are case sensitive), then enter a trigger value of £1 at the bottom, upload your catalog and you should be fine.
