Suppressing a section link

Is it possible to suppress a section link so it doesn't appear on the acatalog/index page, but is still on the site? I want it only to be accessed from a third party web site to track sales.

I use my own custom buttons for my section navigation, so decided the best thing to do is just delete acatalog/index.html each time I update the site. There's no other way customers can navigate to that page. Even though I'd marked it as non-searchable (robots none) customers still blunder into it, screwing my affiliates commission liability!!
