Accessing site via more than 1 terminal

Are there any versions of Actinic that would enable me to upload info on my work pc and home pc?

    Hi,

You can do this on any version as your license is per site. However, be aware that if you make a change on one pc, you would then have to take a snapshot and transfer it to the other pc before making any more changes and uploading. Also be careful when downloading orders, make sure you are downloading into the most up-to-date copy with a complete set of orders as you cannot amalgamate the two afterwards.

      Thanks Tracey,
Just one more question, how do I take a snapshot?! Could I use an Ftp program and download any changes to the secondary terminal?

        Hi William,

To take a snapshot, simply go into Actinic, "File | Snapshot | Export Site Snapshot" and follow the wizard. I normally save the snapshot onto the desktop.

Could I use an Ftp program and download any changes to the secondary terminal?
Actinic is a template driven program, so the data is held within the database. You cannot download pages from the sites into Actinic I'm afraid. The pages are simply regenerated by the Actinic software, so it would be better to use the snapshot funtion.

        Kind Regards

Once you have the snapshot you can FTP to a temp location and then retrieve on the 2nd machine and install the updated snapshot
