Actinic keeps freezing when updating website

    Hi there,

When I go to Web - Update website the program gets through the first 3 ticks on its list okay e.g. checking catalog, checking HTML pages, checking brouchure pages.

But then when it gets to checking search indices it says "creating remote directory structure" - and all of a sudden Actinic will freeze and become non responsive, it stays this way for a good 30 minutes, so i have to then do a ctrl-alt-del job and force it to close itself down.

I cant make any updates with it doing this. I go into Network setup and do a test of the ftp connection and this will freeze as well.

Its never been an issue before in 6 months - i recently added a newsletter script to the site for customers adding their own email address - not sure if any files would be messing with the configuration. I havent changed any of the ftp settings within actinic, and i can use a ftp program SmartFtp to view the files remotely. Just cant upload anything through Actinic - which is really frustrating.

Can anyone give any reasons or remedy suggestions as to why it could be freezing, all of a sudden, when its been okay previously for 6 months or so. Very annoying.

Just to let you know, the site is www.stems-florist.co.uk/acatalog/

Things that could cause this kind of problem:

    1. Bug.

Make sure you're using the latest version. V6.1.5

    2. FTP access.

    Check ftp username and password.

    3. Corrupt database.

    Compact database.

    4. Firewall getting in the way.

try using passive ftp and make sure actinic has been given the right to access the internet.

Hi - do you have any Norton products running? - it may be that you are experiencing a variant of what is discussed in the following thread:

      http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=14623

The only difference being that you are not having the error reported to you.

      Just a semi educated guess.

          Hi Nicola,

Are you running Norton firewall at the moment? If so, did you try the following: http://community.actinic.com/showpos...9&postcount=26
