Each product has to have a unique reference, so what most people do that want to do this is to create a single copy and then cut and paste it into other sections adding a suffix onto the end of the product reference. Then when you want to update the details you can search for the first part of the product references to easily update all occurances.
If you are running Actinic Business rather than Actinic Catalog I sell a solution that allows you to define additional copies and have the details automatically updated. See http://www.mole-end.biz/acatalog/Solutions.html for more details.
Thank you for a very quick response. I have already looked at your site (as suggested by Tracey from Actinic) and was impressed with the solution. However, this is for a non for profit organisation and therefore I need to find a solution without incurring additional costs.
If I need the same solution for a profit making organisation I will be very happy to pay the £100 being asked.
In the meantime, I am going to have to create a dummy (hidden on website) master record of all 'products' and copy them into the relevant place.
