View Cart to Checkout

Hi,

Does anyone have any ideas how to speed up the journey from the View Basket throught to the Checkout?

It seems a bit sluggish. I remember seeing a thread sometime ago (can't find it anymore!), that said it had to pass through two scripts or something similar. I wonder if anyone has managed to speed this all up a bit?

On my site, it's also moving into an SSL area, so I guess this might be a reason it seems slow.

Whatever you do it's going to be a 4 screen job but you should be able to zip through pretty smartly. I use SSL on my checkout and this doesn't appear to slow things down. I host with 1and1. Try a dummy purchase on my site to check the speed.
