Up until recently I had always constructed my catalogues by importing data from flat files - which I build in MS Excel. I find this far easier and quicker than the laborious process of entering data via the Actinic interface. Now, all this could change. I've just taken on a new client with a very diverse product range - with lots of options - which means I will almost certainly have to start using hierarchical files to build the catalogue. Although I am quite familiar with this sort of file structure I still don't know if I'm using the right tools. Both MS Access and Excel can be used to edit hierarchical files but both have drawbacks.
I wondered if there was a "third way"? Is there a better method of working with these file types than through the tools mentioned above?
Any advice would be most welcome.
