One PC for Orders, One PC for Maintenance

We currently run our site using Actinic Business from one PC but I now want to split this up with one PC used for maintenance and another used for just downloading and printing orders.
I believe I can install Business on another PC under the license and import a snapshot from the current PC.

Can I now just dedicate one PC for maintenance and the other PC for downloading orders ?

We don’t use actinic for offline orders or anything like that we just download and print the orders, if any changes are made to the site from the maintenance PC e.g. adding products or changing prices will this effect the downloading of orders ?

Making changes on the upload machine will not effect the download machine unless you wish to place offline orders. The things to note are that stock control will not work - stock will be reduced on the download machine but the database will be on the upload machine (we have a tool in beta that resolves this issue) and it will be harder to create customers from orders - you have to create then on the download machine and then export the customer file and import it on the upload machine to get the details to work.

Another thing to remember is both machines must use the same settings in housekeeping | security.

and if you add payment methods to the upload machine you must also add them to the download machine (says Jan who is adding protx to her site today)

Jan - do you know if updating via a snapshot would carry the new PSP settings across or does the setting still need to be done manually?

I think that snapshot will copy it over.

Thanks for pointers.

We don't use stock control or use Actinic for any offline stuff, we just download orders and print them. They are then put on another system.
