    What do you think?

    Hello all,

After a couple of months of trials and tribulations we have now nearly (just a few little finishing touches to add) finished our site.

We are doing very well and are shocked at the response and feedback we have had so far. We are also very pleased with the way Actinic performs and how simple it is to get good results. So anyone considering Actinic should seriously give it a look.

We are however looking for comments from other Actinic users, so can we please have some of your comments about our site it would be much appreciated.

    Hi

First impression when page loaded was that it is a very professional site. Great job there.

Nice use of images in your search results, defo a bonus.

Would there be any milage in having a seperate image in the extended info. Take books (which actually dont seem to have any images in extended info), could you show the front and back.

I use Firefox as my browser. when i mouse over a product name it either shrinks or underlines, but in neither case can i click any thing. Perhaps a little confusing to customers.

Re Got a Question, could you link to your forum there. Seems odd to have that highly visible on a page but then tells you to go elsewhere rather than a link.

Shop by brand down the side, works for me (and I am not even into brands!!)

One final thing. Have you considered having a single product per page and then using the page titles for product name. I recently did it and found fantastic results in search engines. I sell records and find that customers do keyword searching for artist or title but i was not getting indexed when my products were just in the main table (ala yours).

Nice and bright site which after the intial colour shock does sit well with your product range.

I am getting a horizontal scroll bar (just) at 1024 resolution - may be worth checking the ACTSTDWIDTH setting in Design | Options | Site Defaults as there is a lot of padding around the product column which could be trimmed a little.

Not quite sure what is meant to be happening with the "brandspacer.gif" .. if this meant to be transparent or a box? Either way under Firefox it complicated the otherwise good brand box. May be worth trying a coloured <hr> to add some definition to the brand logo's.

I did get a "file not found" from the travel advice link.

Good work - hope it does well for you

You can also show these thumbnail images in the cart and Checkout. You only need to add a few lines to Act_ShoppingCartXML.html. Just Search for more info or see http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=10204

I quite like it, is it a standard actinic theme or did you custom make it ?

One thing I would point out. I am running a resolution of 1280X1040 and when I load up your page (without scrolling down) the Thawte secured logo and the got a question are off the screen.

If I was running a resolution of 800x600 or 1024x768 as most people do then I think you must need to scroll down quite a bit to find them

          just a thought

Most hyperlinks are the same colour as content text. This means you have to search for links by checking everything by moving your mouse over. From a usability point of view, this is a bit of a no-no. Also means there's a bit of work involved.

Also, in http://www.ifsogo.com/acatalog/disposable_cameras.html, the item title, the description text and the price info all have mouse over and click behaviour - why? These elements aren't clickable (linked to anything), but behave like they should be. I'm also using Firefox, and the item titles on that page also change size as well as colour.

The iframe in http://www.ifsogo.com/acatalog/insurance.html is dead:
                  Provider error '80004005'

                  Unspecified error

                  /Connections/AffiliatesApp-file.asp, line 11

Looking good though, nice and summery
