Adding page numbers to my site

Hi everyone.... I am totally new to this and need a little bit of help.

At the moment my shop is laid out as one big page where the customer scrolls down to view 30 or so products. I want to change this as it looks a bit messy.

I want to lay my products out so that I will only have about 6 on a page at a time. and the customer will have to click on a page number to view the rest of the products in that section.

How do you do that?
