    Previous and Next sections

    Hi

I have found in the advanced user guide the bit about adding Previous and Next links, but I don't really follow it.

Can anyone offer a bit more info on how to implement it into my store?

The client wants the store to look a particular way. He wants 2 large images (should these be sections presumably??) per page, the images going to the product info when clicked.

Then a next button to take you to the next page which also has 2 images on and so on.

Maybe it's a Monday morning thing and I'm feeling a bit slow.

    Thanks

    Ben.

I am also trying to get this to work today, and have got a little way with it.

What I have done is created a second copy of Act_Primary (Act_Primary02.html), and pasted the coded in the Advanced User Guide above the NETQUOTEVAR:BULK.

Then changed the default overall layout of the sections I want the Next and Previous links on, to the Act_Primary02.html template.

This has worked so far, but now I am stuck with the fact that I have a lot of sections.

I hope that helped in some way!

      Hi Ruan

      Thanks for the advice.

I can get it to work using your method quite nicely. Would be nice to have go to page 1, 2, 3, 4 etc etc as well as just Page 2 page 3 etc

Oh well, this will do for now.

Does anybody have any little tweaks for this to make it work even better?

      Cheers

      Ben

        Norman's Siblings menu

Norman at http://www.drillpine.biz/ does a 'Siblings Menu' applet that does just what you are looking for.

It automatically picks up pages as they are added, ammended, deleted etc., plus you have the option of displaying the page numbers or the actual page title plus other formatting options [that we've not yet explored].

We have it on two of our sites if you want to see it in use [directly under the breadcrumbs]

I am Also having a bit of a problem with doing the prev and next.

I have done what Ruan suggested and it sort of worked. My shop has four sections, US house, Drum and Bass, Tickets etc. The shop sections shows up at the top of the page.

What I want to do is have 4 or 5 products on a page (lets say in the Drum & Bass section), and have the prev and next function to go to the next 4 or 5 products within that same section.

          Hopefully this makes sense?

          Any ideas?

My site is: www.house-groove.com (if that's any help?)

            Hi Mike

I'm afraid if you want the previous and next function to show products, then each products has to be in its own section. A section is a page in Actinic, and the next and previous variables are only for sections.
