    PSP's & Deposits in V4.1.1

    Hi
    2 quick questions..

    1. Is SecureHosting(ePDQ) available for Actinic Business V4?
I have applied the latest bus411psp file and gained only HSBC..

    2. If I use a PSP to process CC orders, can Actinic be made to pass 25% deposit requests onto the PSP?

    To clarify point 2:
Actinic currently has Credit Cards setup under the Payment section in Business Settings for "Full Payment" and "25% Deposit". At present the office staff key the orders via a PDQ, adjusting the price for the requested method..

I need to know if Actinic can request that the PSP service take a 25% deposit and then the final 75% upon completion of the order (as determined by us)

I am keen to move Actinic over to PSP for CC orders in order to satisfy the banks security requirements, but until e-commerce software handles these requests, what are we supposed to do?

    Thanks

    Hi there

Is SecureHosting(ePDQ) available for Actinic Business V4?
I'm afraid not, if you would like this, you would need to upgrade to the later version

    2. If I use a PSP to process CC orders, can Actinic be made to pass 25% deposit requests onto the PSP?
On some of the PSP you can pre-authorise transaction, what will happen is that you would logged on the psp site, and authorise the payment. I'm afraid you cannot do what you are asking, to take a 25% deposit.

      Hi
As you know Nadeem, this is a heavily customised version of Actinic we are running here and therefore I would like to know why ePDQ is not available for V4 whereas services like HSBC etc are..

Is it because Actinic simply don't want to make it available, or is their a specific technical limitation impeding this addition and if so, what?

        Hi Graeme

HSBC was integrated into version 4 due to a commercial agreement between Actinic and HSBC. The norm is for only the current to be integrated with a new PSP. We only make changes to the last previous version if the need arises or the PSP pays for it.

OK, well the need has arisen.

Could you possibly ask the dev team to add securehosting(ePDQ) to V4 (can't be that hard as it's in V5)

I really don't have the time to redesign another version of Actinic just yet and was hoping to test ePDQ (on a spare V4 license)

You and I have already discussed the implementation of V7, but I need this facility running during the rebuild (to V7)

          Thanks

            Hi Graeme

I'm afraid no further development is being done on either version 4 or version 5. Each piece of development takes time to implement and test and therefore has an impact on the development schedule for future versions.

I can only suggest that you purchase an upgrade to version 7 and use that initially just for testing whilst your site remains live with v4.

            Kind Regards

Thats just the problem, the site cannot remain live whilst the new site is being constructed..

We need to update the CC system immediately and I find it hard to believe that Actinic cannot supply an ePDQ upgrade (consisting of just 1 Perl script, 1 HTML page and a slight modification to an ini file) which is no doubt pretty much the same as the V5 plug-in with the exception of a few variables..

Looking at other OCC plug-ins shows that not much has changed between V4 and V5 when it comes to compatibility..

I have already agreed to upgrade to the current version and don't require the continual sales pitch, but due to excessive online orders (more than many other Actinic sites get no doubt) I need some co-operation from your company in order to continue the service while the new upgrade is built.

Stop plugging new versions all the time and help us out a little.

              Thanks

Graeme - just an onlooker here, but what stops the site from remaining live in v4 while you construct a duplicate site in a seperate install of v7?

You can have both versions of Actinic on the same PC by adding a v7 subdirectory to the install path. I don't see a technical problem with have v4 live and v7 not while you prepare the site.

                  It's not a technical problem..

We have issues which we have agreed to resolve with our Merchant..

                  UPDATE:
After a call from Actinic, I have been advised to use another PSP as they are all pretty much the same

                  Thanks for the help guys.
