I haven't come across a separate detailed list. Only the various wishes expressed on this forum in various postings.

We don't have a published wish list anywhere I'm afraid. This is because the wish list is only one factor in deciding what goes into the software - we also have to look at the competition, available development resources etc. Also, the features that go into future releases are never fully finalised until the beta release is out, so we wouldn't want to disappoint people by giving the impression we are adding something in, only for it not to be in the final version.

Does anyone know how likely it is, that the features mentioned -
"Best Sellers List"
"Online customer account set up"
"Suggested products based on customers previous orders"
"Customer who purchased item X also purchased item Y"
"Email a friend with a recommendation"
"Post a product review"

will be in version 8 - Maybe from past experience of previous releases - were the majority of the wishes granted?
We are currently in talks with a company who may build us these sort of features from scratch and a large fee. Obviously we do not want to find out 2 months down the line that the features are available on Actinic. Do we know what features are being looked at ?

hi, i just had a reply to a questions about v8
I have been told by Actinic that a proper voucher system ie, gift vouchers for purchase as a payment method will not be in V8.
Also a customer wish list where customers can choose products and email them to friends to buy for christmas presents/wedding gifts etc will also not be in V8.
As these two requests would require a connection to a live database like mysql I would doubt as to V8 would include customer account set up as described or a upsell function like a customer who bought x also bought y.

I might be wrong and hope I am but things like customer account creation, upsells and wishlists are really ecommerce standard thingsto have these days.
Saying thaqt Actinic does have a good back end, just lacking on some standard features we would all like and expect in 2005.

Any News on a Date for Version 8?

Hi

I was wondering if there is any news on a date for version 8 to be released

we are looking at buying developer from 4surehosting (they are cheaper than actinic direct and we will be buying additonal hosting at the same time) during october but dont want to end up paying a fortune to upgrade it a month or so after buying it

You won't be hearing anything about v8 this year so I would go ahead and get Developer.

hi, i have just spoken to actinic on the phone, cover is good value as you would get a v8 upgrade , they said it should be out early 2006.

take this date and add 6 months, I am not sure who comes up with these dates but it was the same with V7 there where issues, problems & delays which you get with all software, look at MS, and this of course delayed release.

Stock Levels

Would dearly love to see a feature that allows you to specify stock levels on product choices.

This causes us no end of problems.

This is something we are looking at, simply because we have pretty much gone - functionality wise - as far as we can go with a desktop-based solution. But it won't happen with v8.
