I've lost the USA!!

Ok, I'm getting some chance to build this catalogue for Jesters Trick Bits (our motorcycle accessories business) and I'm wanting to set up shipping by weight. It's not something I've ever done before as I've only ever done UK free or fixed shipping charges!
UK P+P will be free but I want overseas customers to be able to order through the website too so I've done shipping by weightand am setting up the weights as I add the products.
So, I've gone into Business Settings and am setting up the shipping bands.
I've done UK (easy, free!) and EU (have added all the relevent countries, I think!) and I want a shipping zone for USA & Canada.
Trouble is, while I've found Canada in the list, USA isn't listed on there!?
Why would that be?

I need to bump this thread because it's a serious issue for my store! Is there a file somewhere I can replace to reinstate the USA in my shipping list? It's just completely missing!!

Hi,

The standard term in the software is 'United States'. If that isn't there then it means that it is missing from the 'Advanced | Locations' list. You would need to add it back in with a code of US and the states should be added into the 'States' list with the following codes:

I don't suppose you have a similar list of EU countries, do you?
I'm not sure whether to add a "Europe" or "EU" category with countries but have to confess that neither my European nor EU knowledge is good enough to know which countries should be set up in it!

Hi Tracey,

If you go to View | Business Settings | Tax ... You will find an entry for EU Tax Zone in the "Tax Zones" area. Highlight this option and it should show you the 'Zone Members' for the zone. You do not need to create a new Country for the EU and then add in members as this is more of a Tax / Shipping function that only requires the appropriate membership in Tax zones.
