Single product group discount

I have a discount across a product group of 10% say. Can this be displayed on the product information page or does it have to wait until the checkout? Is this a function of the product page template?

There are some display options in the discounts dialog on the miscellaneous tab, if you tick 'in product details' in the discount information box then the discount details will be shown.

I have show discount description against each product and above the list of products ticked but I can't see a discount until the checkout.
