    Manual download of orders

Is it possible to manually download orders (.ord and .occ files) from the acatalog folder on our server and put them somewhere locally using an external FTP client such as WSFTP Pro, potentially to import them into the ActinicCatalog in some way?

We are looking to save time for our order processor by downloading orders on another computer, especially at the moment where we are having file transfer issues on our server, meaning it can take in the region of half an hour to download a set of 60-70 orders. If we can get another computer to schedule a download every hour or so, it means it would save substantial order processing time.

I would expect that the order files are somehow encrypted on the server and then decrypted by Actinic during the download process meaning that a manual external download of orders is impossible but I could be wrong in assuming this.

You are right that the orders are encrypted, so they have to be downloaded by the software and can not be done using an FTP app.

You are allowed under the licence of the software to use the software twice, once for maintenance of the site and again for order download and processing, so deploying the software onto another machine, import a snapshot from the current machine you use to get it all in sync with security keys and the like will get it all correct to start with, which should cover your needs.

      Hi there

You have Actinic Multiuser right? This is the advantage of Multiuser, any of the order processer can download the orders, you don't need to download it on the main computer.
