"alt" attribute to images

Do anybody know if CatalogV7 automatically creates alt attribute to images? If not, how can this be added? Cheers, Nick

The product description is added to the product images by default and section names to section images

is it possible to create custom alt tags that aren't just the product name repeated? From a SEO stand-point it would be very useful to add more descriptive information

We created a custom property called "ALTIMAGE", and put some descriptive text in the Properties section of each product. Then, inside the Act_ProductImage.html template, place ALT="CUSTOMVAR:ALTIMAGE" inside the image tag.

or even ALT="CUSTOMVAR:ALTIMAGE" TITLE="CUSTOMVAR:ALTIMAGE" for firefox et al.

You should be careful with over doing the alt tag as not only does this contribute to your ideal word count, but it may look like keyword stuffing.

Actinc IMO does a good job with alt tags if you plan your product labels well.
