    Update using HTTP

We've recently changed hosting servers for our shop as we were getting to the point where pur traffic was too much for the existing server to handle. During one of the initial system updates the connection to the FTP timed out and we were given the option to continue the update using HTTP rather than FTP which we went along with, and to our surprise, this sped up the remainder of the update considerably.

We have looked through the help files and this forum for options that may allow us to upload using HTTP as standard, is there an option (or series of options) available in Actinic where was can do this?

    Hi Simon

I'm afraid this option is not standard, it is only a fallback option if the FTP protocols is timing out alot. By the way, in "Advance | Network Setup", do you have "Use Enhanced FTP" ticked?. If not then please tick it, as this will open up 1 connection to your server, not 3 or more, which is what Actinic normally does. Maybe this is the reason why your server is timing out.
