    next day delivery charge

    hi

can anyone help me please with a small problem

when a customer orders a gift of my website and they chose the next day delivery option which we charge extra for the actinic prog does not automaticy charge them the correct delivery charge is their a way that when a customer choses next day delivery that the cost is automaticly charged to the customer.

im getting a lot of customers choseing next day delivery and expecting the gift the next day when they have only selected free postage on 3 working days or more.

Where are you setting this option for next day delivery? Are you suggesting it at the product itself or during the checkout phase, as to have it automatically set up, then you would need to create a new/additional shipping schedule called Next Day etc, and build the price of that postage into the shipping calculators, which once all done and correct will mean they get the choice at checkout alone for normal (free) or next day (fee).

      next day delivery

      thanks

this is the way we do it already .

the problem is we ask the customer for a delivery date for the gift to arrive at the destination .

they enter the next days date into the delivery date.
then when they get to the section where they chose the delivery method
they dont click on next day delivery so the programme thinks its 3 working
days and doesent charge them for next day delivery.
is there a way when the customer puts the next days date in the first time they are asked when they get to checkout they have to stick with this option and not chose the 3 working days or more option

      thanks for your help

        Hi Sean

I'm afraid not with Actinic, straight out of the box. However it possible to do if someone had knowledge on scripting (perlscript/javascript), they could try a plugin.
However an easier way would be for the "Other Info Prompt" to be a preferred date, and the checkout shipping to be a fallback date?
