    Can actinic produce this layout....??

    Hi All,

I am designing a store for someone who has asked for a specific layout on products pages the store was initially designed using paypal merchant tools...but paypal lacks the ability to calculate shipping on weight. the layout is here... ... http://www.thetowelcompany.co.uk/luxor_range.htm

I have tried to reproduce this in actinic but cannot seem to create a drop down with the towel types and their prices.

Please can any one help with this ?

    Thank you for your time.

    Hi Richard,

should be no problem to recreate the layout and feel of the site with some changes to the main templates (Act_Primary and Act_ProductLine in particular)

To get the drop down boxes:

against the product create a component called "size" under this create a attribute called say "type" and select using a drop down box. You can then add in the varoius choices for facecloth, bath towel etc. Note you will need to add the additional cost into the choice name and html boxes manually as Actinic currently does not do this dynamically (it is on the wish list)

Against the main product set the pricing model to "sum of product and component prices"

      Hi..Thanx for the help....

      HI,

Thanx for the help..very useful indeed.

Can I push you for one more piece of info.

"Note you will need to add the additional cost into the choice name and html boxes manually as Actinic currently does not do this dynamically (it is on the wish list)"

Can you show me an example of the details i would need to input for the above senario, to add the prices and weights to the 'towel type/size' drop down list.

Thank you again for your time.

      Regards.

          Thanx bruce

          Hi...

          Thanx for that..very helpful....

Ive got it all looking how i want it and uploaded it and viewed it online but when i add to cart it doesnt display price...where would i put the prices so they show up on the cart....also is there a facility to add the weights of all the different towels so the checkout can calculate shipping based on weight.

Thanks again for all the quality advice.

          Regards.

            Hi Rich,

Does it not show the prices in the shopping cart at all? You might want to click on the main product, on the "General" tab, make sure for the "Pricing Model" it says "Sum of Product and Component Prices".

              thx nadeem...

HI....i found my problem .....I had forgotten to add the permutations...Doh!

The next part of my problem though is how I add the weights for each single product so the actinic can calculate the shipping more specifically. Can you point me in the right direction for this pls. Thanks for the advice....much appreciated.

                Hi there Rich

If you want to have weight for each choice, then you need to setup hidden products. Have a look at the following thread, my last response: http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=11740
