Table for Coupon Error Message

When an incorrect coupon code is entered on the shopping cart page and the 'update' button in pressed, a page comes up saying "incorrect coupon code" etc etc. The problem I have is that this error message is surrounded by a table specified to 550 width and 10 padding which screws up my site template. I'm going round in circles trying to find where this table width is set!!

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Go into Design | Text and click the Go to button down the bottom.

Look for Phase: -1 and ID: 2178 which I believe is the HTML for that element

Thanks, although that only changes the second page in the order process. The shopping cart page still displays the annoying 550 width table and I can't find out where this comes from.

Hi Carl,

That was a bit of a difficult one to locate and I dont blame you

You will have to edit ActinicConstants.pm. Open it with an editor like notepad and search for $::ERROR_FORMAT. You will see a HTML string against it that you will need to change.

Please do make a backup of the file before you edit it.

A bit tricky!
Just came across this problem and thought how can that be when I've sort the difficult to find "550" in text options for the error messages.

Actinic development team "Oh yeah it's so unlikely anyone would need to change the width of the coupon code error message..f**k 'em let just keep it hidden in a .pm file, they'll give up trying and we can get on realeasing another version of v8" (Only jesting)
