    Shipping Time Slots

We are wanting to give customers a choice of local or national delivery. National customers just pick a normal delivery option, which is no problem. However, if a customer selects local delivery, we also want to be able to give them a choice of 2 hr time slots to choose from. The choice of slot will not affect the shipping total.

I can't see an easy way to impliment this, does anyone know how to do it before I spend hours and hours on it? Thanks in advance...

You can create a product called local delivery with component time-slot and attributes for each time slot. However, to get customers to use it, you would have to find a way of drawing their attention to the item *before* they reach the checkout.

Alternately, you can use the user-defined questions to ask for a preferred delivery time *in* the checkout.

Thanks, I had thought of the product/component idea, but it really needs to be another option within the checkout.

The user-definable fields look promising. Instead of leaving the user choice open - thats just inviting angry customers who demand their items at 2am - I want to give specific choices. I'm thinking of making a few drop-down lists, and then combining the values into a string which can be passed to the Special Delivery Instructions field. Should work a treat. Thanks for the idea!

      EDIT: Functions perfectly
