Shipping one section of items calculation TBC

Hi,
I have 2 sections of products in my store that I am working ok. One is outers and one is cartons. The outers section shipping calculation is fine as the items are small. For the cartons I will need to send some orders by courier but most by pallet. I am thinking of setting the cartons to weight 999kg and setting up a shipping zone something like Shipping TBC. I will then calculate the cost and update the order. Is that the best way to do this? If I select ship separately I assume it will separate each carton instead of cartons and outers, am I right?

Probably best to use the old favourite workaround of the huge weight per product and set the shipping table accordingly.

If you set to ship seperately this will set a shipping charge against each product ie as if you were sending each item out on its own - this applies even if someone adds 3 of the same item to the cart they get charged 3 lots of shipping
