    Problem with updating web site

I am suddenly unable to update my web site. If I now run the Test function of Network Setup I get the error:

Unable to move to the actcatalog directory "../" on the FTP server.
    (null)

My site Host cannot see anything wrong from their point of view. I have been updating without trouble for over a year and I can still download orders.

    ???????

    My setup is as follows:

    Catalog URL: http://www.choicesembroidery.co.uk/acatalog/

    CGI-BIN URL: http://www.choicesembroidery.co.uk/cgibin/

    Codebase: ./

Path from CGI-BIN to acatalog Directory: ../acatalog/

    CGI script ID number: 1

    Extension: .cgi

    Mail(SMTP)Server: localhost

    Web Site URL: http://www.choicesembroidery.co.uk

Path to the Perl shell: /usr/bin/perl

    Ignore passive transfer errors: ticked

Use relative CGI-BIN URLs in Catalog Pages: not ticked

    Server Host: www.choicesembroidery.co.uk

    Username:

    Password:

    Path to CGI-BIN: public_html/cgibin/

Path from CGI-BIN to ..... blank unless advised): blank

    Use passive FTP Transfers: ticked

    Hi Kes

When did this issue start happening? You say you have had no problem for over a year, has there been anything introduced into the PC like a firewall software. If so, then maybe you need to tell the firewall software to let Actinic upload. If it Norton, then they have an "Expection List" or "Allowed List". The easiest way to see if its the Firewall which is blocking you, is to turn if off, and then try the Actinic software Test again. If it works, then you know where the problem is lying.

Thanks for the response. I use Norton Internet Security 2005, and have had trouble with its firewall before. But not in this case I think. I have turned the firewall off and tried the update and the Test from Advanced Network Setup - I get just the same failures.

The problem has been with me for just over a week.

I have found what is blocking the Acinic update. It isn't the Norton Firewall, it is the Norton Internet Security option. If that is turned off then the update goes through OK.

I have not found anything that helps on the Norton web site. Have you heard of this before?

Maybe I should switch from Norton!

Yes - I have got exactly the problem described in the thread you pointed to. A FTP Pathname Glob BufferOverflow error. Thanks
