    Reducing price with a component?

    Hi

Is it possible to have a price reduction driven by an optional component?

Have tried 'sum of product and component prices' with a negative value in the component price for 'with red wine instead...' but as Actinic won't take a negative price for the component, it won't work.

    Is there a workaround?

    Many thanks, Dan

Generally best commercial practice to show the cheapest price first then add in the optional extras to build the price up.

In your example set the cost of the hamper without the booze at say £40.00 and then add the Champagne option at £19.95 and the wine option at £4.95. Or you should set the main price to include red wine with the upgrade to the Champagne at the extra cost

Or you can create 2 product, one for the Champagne the other for the wine.

      Thanks Jonty,

I agree with you, several other products on the site will be set up as you suggest. Hopefully I can convince my client to agree too!

      Cheers, Dan

Good luck... the client is "always" right ... obviously conceived prior to computers
