layout products on index page horizontally

Hi,
Can someone please tell me how I go about laying out the products on the index page horizontally. Mine looks like this Click here but I want it to look like this Click here

These aren't "Products" but "Sections". I.e links (that take yoiu to other pages).

These can be laid out across the page via Design / Options / Sections. There's one set of settings for the top level page and another for all other pages.
