    Checkout adds mystery items

    Hi all,

Just a quick question (I hope!).

When a customer tries to check out Actinic adds a mysterious item to the cart as well as the original item. So in other words, if you were to order a "mixer", at checkout there would be the "mixer" as well as a "blender". There doesn't seem to be a way to remove the "blender" from the basket - it's very strange.

I have checked to see if there is some sort of association applied to the "blender" that adds it to the cart but I cannot see anything that would cause it.

    Does anyone have any ideas???

    Thanks in advance

    Chris

I added a blender - there was a blender on its own in the basket.
I added a mixer - there was one of each. I clicked the remove box and clicked update - the basket was empty.

        No problems encountered.

          Hi Chris,

Also tried out the blender and mixer, then ticked the remove box and update.

          Everything worked well and properly!

            Thanks for your efforts

            Hi again,

            Thanks for your efforts.

It's really strange because I have had a few users mention this problem. Until today, I assumed it was down to user error. However, I also had the same problem today when testing.

Still, thanks for your efforts..case closed! Until the next time that is!!

            Chris.

I just added a toaster and there was already one in the cart
the top one had an editable quantity whilst the bottom one was fixed, dunno what that means

Hmm...looks like a components issue that does!
I assume you (OP) have hidden associated products for the different colour toasters? For stock control?
If so, you need to go into your "components" for the main item. I assume you've filled the list of permutations and associated the products?
You need to also change the drop down titled "pricing" to say "associated product price"
You may have already done that. YOu then need to decide whether to use the associated product name too. I generally do, it's more specific in the cart for the customer.
NOW, the bit I think you haven't done.
In the MAIN product, go to the "General" tab..
At the bottom (I'm assuming you're using V7, if you're on V6, I seem to think there is a "components" tab in the product details?) you'll see an option that is titled "Component details" "Pricing model"
YOu have this set to "sum of product and component prices" which is doubling the price for these toaster options
YOu need to change it to say "sum of components prices"
It's up to you whether you choose "no orderline for main product" It's selected by default (in V7 anyway)
I htink it's better with no main product orderline as well because it just makes the cart look as if it contains 2 items (although there will only be one price)

Hope that makes some sense? Have been up too long already! LOL
