    Missing Section list from Checkout

    Hello Folks,

I'm just about to do some work on the templates that control "View Basket" and "Checkout" and I've noticed that at the moment when I click on these in the uploaded store, the list of sections down the left hand side of the page are not being displayed! The store is based on clean layout 13.

    http://www.magicalwonders.com/acatalog/index.html

I've had a look in Design/Options/Layout. The templates listed for "View Basket" and "Checkout" is Act_PrimaryCheckout.

The NVQ:TOPLEVELSECTIONSTOP is included for the left hand column for this template, so I'm puzzled as to why the sections are not showing.

Anyone got any ideas what's happening? Or more to the point why it's not happening!

    Many thanks,

    Myles

When I click your view basket I see a different design, but the main reason for no left hand menu is because the TOPLEVELSECTIONSTOP marker is not processed during the checkout stage as generally this is used in the central area of the site, which allows for images and the like, with long descriptions, whereas I see you are using it simply as the link.

I would suggest diving into the Advanced User Guide and using the Java Script for displaying the top level sections in the side areas, as this will show at all times, eg: http://www.4suredomain02.co.uk/ and go into the Secure Shop link and you will see the top level sections appear in the list, which is an adaptation of the Java Script that is used within the Advanced User Guide.

    Some ideas I hope.

      Hello Techno,

Yes, this is the original Actinic design for clean layout 13. Thought I'd try and sort out any problems before changing the design.

I know there is an issue where NVQ:TOPLEVELSECTIONSTOP don't work for non store pages and a Javascript work around is available. But I didn't realise that "Checkout" and "Basket" are considered non store pages?

What has thrown me a bit is the inclusion of the NQV:TOPLEVELSECTIONSTOP in the template. If it isn't meant to work for these pages, what's the point of including it?

Thanks for the info. I'm reassured it's not something I've broken!

I couldn't get this link to work

      http://www.4suredomain02.co.uk/

      Getting the following error.
Cannot find server or DNS Error
      Thanks,

      Myles

Must have been some DNS glitch or something as it seems all ok and on checking stats it was serving a load, so some routing maybe that has sorted itself out, but XP and cached DNS, plus negative TTL is a pain of late LOL.

Anyway, some of the designs provide different Layouts within the Design area which uses only certain elements, like the View Cart or Checkout layouts etc etc, purely so that you do not have NQVs which are not required in them... Not used the clean layouts so do not know whether they come with distinct separate templates for differing areas, but would hazard that this would be the case.

The same can be said for pages like Login, as the navigation buttons, view cart and all that do not work in those pages and simply ignores the relevant NQV during such roles, which although Actinics inclusion of many NQVs has increased and improved over the years, obviously we would all like some more to play with in extra pages.

Tried viewing with Firefox and IE, but again without success. I'm using XP Pro SP2. Not able to view your homepage either, listed on profile. Maybe it's just me and some glitch on my PC, although I seem to be able to view all other links O.K. Very strange!
