Running Actinic from a removeable hard drive?

Has anyone had experience of running Actinic from a removeable hard drive (or even a USB memory stick). I was thinking of doing this so that I could carry just the drive between home and work etc and using the PC's already there.

Actinic keeps some settings in the PC's registry so this may be too scary to rely on.

your best bet is to set up an automatic snapshot to the external drive, then you can travel to an fro without problems

        That's what I do.
Not ideal as it's rather time consuming exporting and importing snapshots but it's the best solution.
Only thing with that would be that you'd need to make sure that any file referenced (outside your site1 folder) are also on the removable hard drive so that they can be found on the second computer also!

          Hi
I have tryed this and all I get is a registry error. We are trying to develop the site at my home office and my staff download orders from the workshop (industrial unit where the stock is..lol)
Does any one else do this?

          Regards

you don't need to keep moving the snapshot if you are working on the site at home with the warehouse downloading orders.

There are tick boxes within business settings to allow this as it is a common setup.

set the warehouse pc to download only mode.

However I suggest you get the registry error sorted out as this will come back to haunt you - get Actinic support to help on this one
