Product Image

I am using a one product per page strategy, but would like to also provide links to other related products (EG Products X, Y, Z) on the product page.

I understand how to create a link using the product ref for the related product but in addition to the link itself I would also like to display an image of the related product. To save typing I would like to use a customvar in the template to equal the appropriate product ref. Would it be possible to use the same customvar to display the correct image and the correct product name using only product references? If so does anyone know what the code would look like?

There's generally no way you can get at one products image from within another product.

Unless you make a rule that your image filenames are related to the product reference. E.g. you use img<product reference>.jpg

Another thing you may want to look at is my Upsell add-on from www.drillpine.biz/actinicstuff - this allows you to use duplicate products as upsell items that show a tiny icon and short description of the related itrems against your main product.
