    Delete section?

My client deleted a section and its products because the products in that section were discontinued. She updated the website, a month or two goes by, and not just one, but two different shoppers attempt to purchase that item. They found it with google searches and were lead directly to the section page (http://www.flyingneedle.com/acatalog...anuts_905.html - it's gone now) where they ordered the items.

Why didn't Actinic delete the section page? Is this how it works? Or is there a process that prevents this?

    Thanks,

    Heidi

i always replace a page i've deleted with a 404 error page to redirect people to the shop front.

Once you've gone to all the effort required to get a page listed in Google you want to keep its traffic.
