    Multiple Discounts Not Working!

    Hi,

I have a range of shampoo products for which I offer 10% discount on orders of 4 or more bottles. I have created an appropriate group and discount for this specific order quantity which works absolutely fine.

From time to time I also offer an additional promotional offer to run along side the regular order quantity discount which is as follows:

Buy any 6 (4 Litre) bottles and get the cheapest one free. (PLUS 10% OFF.)

If a customer purchases 1 (4 Litre) bottle then Actinic informs the customer of the promotional offers available to them.

However, if the customer orders 4 (4 Litre) bottles, the 6 bottle promotion disappears and is no longer offered. If the customer orders 6 bottles they only get 10% discount - no free product!

Am I therefore right in thinking Actinic can only offer one discount promotion?

If someone can clarify this that would be great.

    Thanks

Can you check your settings? There is a checkbox that restricts customers to one discount - need to make sure this is clear for both discounts.

      Hi Bill,

Yes I checked this and there are no restrictions of discounts offered.

If there were, then I guess Actinic wouldn't offer both discounts at the 'shopping basket' preview.

      Any more ideas?

Not sure which order you have the discounts listed in, but try reversing the order. The listing should be in value order, with whichever involves the lower pre-discount cost coming first.

          Dear Bill,

I've tried reversing the order and although it works (to a degree) there are still a few issues as described here after.

Order 6 (4L) bottles and Actinic will correctly discount the order by the value of 1 cheapest (4L) bottle. However, since you have purchased more than 4 bottles in total you should also receive 10% discount off the entire order.

Unfortunately this second level of discount doesn't occur unless you purchase 10 (4L) bottles in total (ie. 6 + 4 bottles). In addition Actinic is only discounting the additional 4 bottles not all 10.

Although this proposed discount structure is quite simple, I appreciate I might be asking too much of Actinic. However, if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

          Thanks
          Kevin

            Hi Kevin

Please make sure in "View | Discount and Surcharge Settings | Miscellaneous", that you have not got ticked "Allow Only One Cart Content Discount Per Order", or in the "Cart Contents" tab, you have ticked "Only One Reward Per Order".
