    Problems with displaying images

    Hi,

Hope somebody can make some sense of this. I having problems displaying images when clicking "view larger image" on some new product I've added to our www.solelyshoes.com site.

When I cllick the link it opens the HTML page but will not display the product image. The HTML page works fine off-line but doesn't work on the live site.

    For examples see: http://www.solelyshoes.com/acatalog/Panama_Jack.html

The last three products all do not display the image when 'enlarged'. Additionally, if you look at product 0101 by Panama Jack I have amended the appearance of the image thumbnail but when you click the enlarged image it is the old one and not the same as the off line image on the HTML file.

I've checked all the code in the HTML files and they appear to be pointing to the right files etc but cannot understand why the new images are not being picked up.

    Any help would be appreciated.

The 0101 showed me an enlarged picture of an 0101 in Peach Nubuck - no way to tell if this was your old image or new image.

The final ES02 product opened an html page called es01blk.htm which had a placeholder for an image es02blk.jpg which apparently does not exist within your acatalog folder on the website.

      Thanks for looking.

The 0101 image should be rather more 'yellow' in appearance (similar to the thumbnail) but clearly you wouldn't have noticed that.

The image es02blk.jpg should have been loaded to the site as far as I know. The HTML file displays the image off line so why isn't it loading to the live site?

Have I not got the images being uploaded somehow?

P.S. Not sure if this is relevant but we have recently split the catalogue across three machines instead of two, with the one I'm working on being set up for 'catalog maintenance' only and not 'design changes'. Is this significant?

I would expect that to make a big difference, but only Actinic can tell us for sure.

Try an ftp connection to your site and see if the image is there - could just be a case sensitive installation - for most *nix servers ES02 and es02 are two different files. If that is the case, you have a choice of rename the file, or make the html code the same case as the filename.

          Thanks again,

I've checked that everything is 'case sensitive' in the HTML code and it all matches o.k.

Back to the drawing board perhaps?

Yep, sounds like you need to try redoing the changes and uploading from your design machine.

Anyone know if I can do a 'refresh website' from a machine set up for catalog maintenance only?

                Hi Jon,

Yes if you set the machine up for Catalog Maintenance, you should still be able to do a "Web | Refresh Website". The only thing you cannot do, is to download orders, if you have unticked "Order Processing".

                Kind Regards

                  Beatwear !

You seem to have achieved exactly the approach to images, thumbnails and view larger images that I'm looking for.

Could you please give me a clue as to how you achieved this ??

I'm sure there's a simple answer but I seem to be missing it !

                  Thanks for your time.

                    Hi,

To get the look and feel of the site in mention I would suggest you look at page 23 and 24 of the AUG. If you want the Extended Information to appear as in the other site, the go to Design | Shop Defaults .. Extended Info | Text , enter what you wouldlike to appear on the button. Then on the Extended Information Tab of a product, select display by 'Clicking Product' and 'Extended Info button'.

If you want your Extended info pages to all display with a standard size, you can do this in Design | Options | Layouts .. Extended Product Information, by setting the width and hight globally, you can also click on the edit button to see / edit the layout to suite your requirement.

                    Kind regards,
