    Is This Possible?

i've got a client running a site that is part actinic and part 'normal' non-actnic pages.

the index page is non-actinic, but now the client wants to feature a 'product of the month' on it, complete with picture.

so i was wondering if it would be possible to let them do this on an actinic page elsewhere and then perhaps put this page in a frame or Iframe on the index?

i guess this would mean setting up a seperate template (i.e. with no menus or logos, just the product & its pic) in its own section - again, is this possible?

or is there an easier way? can i just design an actinic index that would solve all this somehow? or maybe i'm missing something even more obvious?

    thanks in advance

Probably easiest as you say to re-design the site homepage under Actinic so your client can then easily update things within the one place.

Messing around with frames and iframes on the index page is not a great idea for search engines etc and adds more steps into the equation for your client

      hi jont

      thanks for the reply

the client wants the index page to look different to the rest of the site - is it possible to have a seperate template for it?

Edit the layout accordingly and then specify the template in layout against the "home" page details in the section tree... be careful to retain all the various Actinic codes to enable cookie monitoring etc... click "use as homepage"... your client can then use a fragment to add in a picture and text for their monthly specials etc using the [link] feature to take customers to the right section or product.
